IP Subnet & CIDR Privacy Calculator
High-speed, 100% client-side IPv4 subnet and CIDR calculator for network engineers, cloud architects, and security specialists. Compute network IDs, broadcast addresses, usable host ranges, and 32-bit binary bit-allocation maps with zero cloud telemetry or IP logging.
Type your target IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.1) or pick a popular cloud preset.
Drag the CIDR slider from /8 to /32. The usable host count and network boundaries update in real time.
Instantly view network ID, broadcast address, first/last usable host IPs, and binary bit allocation map.

⚙️ How This Tool Works Locally
When you use this tool on PrivacyKit, every byte is processed directly in your device RAM.
- 1. No Network Traffic: No HTTP POST or PUT requests are made to any server. Your internet can even be disconnected.
- 2. Modern Native APIs: Computation uses native HTML5 Canvas, Web Cryptography (SubtleCrypto), and client-side binary parsers.
- 3. Zero Footprint: Closing this browser tab immediately frees the memory buffer. No persistent cookies or caches remain.
💡 Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Subnet Calculator work locally?
All 32-bit bitwise binary operations, bit shifts, and subnet boundary math run entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. No IP addresses or internal network topologies are ever transmitted to or logged on remote servers.
What is CIDR notation?
CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing) represents a subnet mask as a prefix length (e.g. /24 equals 255.255.255.0). It defines how many bits are allocated for the network routing prefix.
Why are there 2 fewer usable hosts in a standard IPv4 subnet?
In standard subnets (/30 and larger), the first address is reserved as the Network ID and the last address is reserved as the Broadcast address, leaving 2^(32-CIDR) - 2 usable addresses for devices.
What is a Cisco Wildcard Mask?
A wildcard mask is the mathematical bitwise inverse of the subnet mask, commonly used in Cisco IOS Access Control Lists (ACLs) and OSPF routing protocols.
Are RFC 1918 private subnets recognized?
Yes. The calculator automatically identifies 10.0.0.0/8 (Class A), 172.16.0.0/12 (Class B), and 192.168.0.0/16 (Class C) private IP ranges.
