Privacy Q&A

Does stripping EXIF also remove ICC Color Profiles?

I frequently share architectural photography online. PrivacyKit’s EXIF scrubber stripped the GPS tags and camera serials instantly, but I was wondering if the ICC color profile is preserved or converted? Tested on Firefox and colors look completely accurate!

Yes! HTML5 Canvas rasterizes pixel data into standard sRGB / display space, completely wiping out identifying metadata while preserving high color fidelity.

Why client-side AES-256 is the future for corporate note-taking

Our team uses PrivacyKit’s AES-256 Encryptor to send temporary credential tokens between developers. Because the key derivation happens with 250k PBKDF2 iterations in browser RAM, we never have to worry about cloud leaks or third-party server compromise.

Totally agree. The PBKDF2 salt generation with window.crypto.getRandomValues is super clean and fast.

Idea: Two-way AI prompt anonymizer for legal contracts

The new AI Prompt Anonymizer is an absolute game-changer for GDPR compliance! Replacing [Client Name] and [Company] with tokens before feeding into ChatGPT and then 1-click restoring them back in the output saves us hours of manual sanitization.
